Hello, I am new to this site, I hope you treat me nice.
I am in the hope of finding detail that will confirm or at least correct what I have, I have John Blair 8th/9th of Ardblair and James Blair 8th/9th of Ardblair but not sure which one I should have, I have it that he married a Isabel STEWART daughter of James STEWART 1st of Ladywell, Isabel and John/James had a daughter named Helen BLAIR c1660/70, Helen married to George FREER on 26 Dec 1699, George was ordained minister at Lethendy, can anyone help with either John or James and perhaps with dates of birth, as I have looked in many places and can find nothing on them.

The Clan Blair Society has visited Ardblair Castle in Blairgowrie, Scotland several times over the years. The current Laird of Ardblair is Laurence Blair Oliphant, and I have written to him in hope that he can answer your questions. I am assuming of course that your Blairs are connected to the ancient homestead of Ardblair in Blairgowrie. I am the newsletter editor of “Blair Bruidhinn” and will publish your query in our upcoming May edition to gather responses and more information. I also forwarded your request to our clan genealogist in Scotland, Jack Blair of Perthshire. My question is what is meant by the 8th-9th of Ardblair? Is something missing? The word "Laird"? Also, are you a descendant of these Blairs? Please email me if you have any comments or additions. Yours aye, Allen Rountree – Alpha-7@att.net |
